When doubling work is completed, the tracks are not linked to the old track. So no crossovers are there.
CRS inspects the new track whether some part is on the left or right of old track in patches.
Then sends the report.
Then the work of linking and signalling begins. The interlocking and NI work takes place for which block is taken....

After they are done, then trains will start plying on the new track.
This is what I know of.
Right now, CRS has inspected last week and maybe the report is awaited. Then after the ok, they will take block and link the track.
