Summary:
Travel on this train if and only if you have never traveled in a Double Decker train for the sake of sitting either higher or lower than conventional trains. Otherwise, don't.
Deep review:
1. Cleanliness: Coaches are rather clean but the vestibule area and washroom really stink.
2....
more... Punctuality: Punctuality is great till Tirupattur (after which it joins MAS-SBC line). Then it gets delayed till KJM. After KJM huge slack takes care of things and you reach SBC (almost) on time.
3. Food: Nothing is available for whole 7 hours of journey. Coffee machine and food vending machine are just there for show-off. No vendors. Train halts for only 2 minutes at majority of the stops. Bring your own food from home/market.
4. Ticket Availability: The best aspect of the train. You can get tickets a night before very easily. (Doesn't necessarily applies on weekends)
5. Railfanning: I travelled in C2 coach, the windows were tinted. The videos and photos that I shot had shade of yellow. The scenes were beautiful though. Watch out for hill section after Salem and then between Patchur and Mulanur. And bifurcation point after Tirupattur.
6. Safety: LHB coaches are safe. Other than reserved passengers no one enters.
7. Comfort: No comfort at all. All seats are non-reclining.
