When started in 1977, TT was:- BSP 16.20; NGP 23.35; HBJ 06.05 & HBJ 18.55; NGP 01.50; BSP 08.40 as Chhattisgarhanchal Express. Later in 1980, TT was made BSP 16.20; NGP 23.35; BPL 06.40 & BPL 18.20; NGP 01.50; BSP 08.40. In 1987 after extension to New Delhi was made, timings became BSP 16.20; BPL 06.50; NDLS 18.35 & NDLS 06.25; BPL 18.20; BSP 08.40. Again after final extension to Amritsar timings were further changed to BSP 16.20; NGP 23.35; BPL 06.50; NDLS 18.35/19.15; SRE 23.05; UMB 00.35; LDH 02.45; ASR 05.20 & ASR 19.35; LDH 22.10; UMB 00.25; SRE 01.50/02.00; NDLS 05.40/06.20; BPL 18.40; NGP 01.45; BSP 08.35| But in 2006 when Pench Valley Passenger train was introduced, Chhattisgarh Express & Pench Valley Passenger was combined to run between Amla & Bhopal with coaches attached/detached system at Amla & Timings were hugely detoriated.
