Mumbai Metro Line 2A and 7 Thread :-

Proposed and Passed in 2015 by the government. It Nearly took 8 years for the metro to get operational. After missing several deadline. 28th Jan 2021 first metro rake came to car shed and after 4th of wait and testing in depot on 31 may 2021 the trials on entire route were started and later more Train set started arriving in city per month. Total of 12 Train set has arrived in city till operations were started. And after many delays on 2nd April 2022 Metro services was flagged off by chief minister Uddhav Thackeray at 4.45 pm at Aarey Metro station on Phase I of Line 2A and 7 (Aarey-Dahisar- Dahanukarwadi). It was open to public at 8 pm later that day..


As the time was passing by it was 7:30 and the people had starting lining up outside the metro station , many entrance of metro weren't opened, only handful of it were open. and At 7:45 the public were let open to enter the station. Metro station platform were clean , bright with led blubs and tubelights , had a antique Big circular watch near the ticket counter. As it was the first day it was free ride for all the passenger who wanted to take the ride. service for first day were from 8 to 10 only. making it just limited ride for the day. Still many people were able to take the ride


All the staff were making sure public don't get any issue, they were guiding each and everyone how and what to do Next. Only Single Journey ticket were been issued by the staff. Took the metro ticket for Aarey, Passed through the security Point. There were all information board kept about the metro line map and also about the station navigations. Took the escalator and went up the platform.


Train was already standing at the station , It was the first Train to Depart from Dahanukarwadi at 7:57 Pm. The doors of train were open at 7:55 for all and everyone entered and grabbed the seats. The first coach is for ladies. So The staff had asked all the boys entered in that coach to go in the second coach. And At dot 7:57 the first metro Train with public departed from Dahanukarwadi.

The Acceleration was Superb while departing from the Station. The public saying "Ganpati Bappa Moriya" And the vibe inside the coach was altogether different. With full positivity and all it was truly going to make life of Mumbaikar easy now with both the line functional now and open for public. The coach interior were good , The PIS was good enough to make people aware of the next station coming , The lighting inside the rake was also good.


The Acceleration between station was also good and also. The Pilots don't have the judgment to stop the trains. After stopping they again start and again stop the train making alignment with the PSD system. But still they don't match with it. Passing by Each station the public in rake kept on increasing.
Crossing the lifeline of mumbai from above felt so different. Mumbai local below and Metro above.

Rake Even has USB charging point and Plug in facility to charge the phones. It even has a cycle stand for carrying Cycle in train

After Crossing the Dahisar east station , Came parallel to The Western Express Highway. Running parallel to car below and Dogging the traffic below.. It was a Dream come true for Mumbaikar when you overcome a traffic and metro becoming a reality.

After Reaching Aarey we Got down at the station , Took the Exit and also had stand in que for taking metro ticket for return back to Dahanukarwadi.

And this is where the Real Chaos Starts !

After Reaching the station again, The whole Group of enthusiast meet. And we decided to leave one train and catch the train which will come behind it as the frequency was only of 10 min.

After The yellow Rake went , We were waiting for the Next rake to come, But in mean time we got a call from our friend who was at Dahisar coming to Aarey saying that train has got snag and is not moving ahead of Dahisar. After a few minutes of wait, He again called and told all trains are returning back to Dahanukarwadi from Dahisar itself and no rake is coming towards Aarey. And in meanwhile There was a Alarm of Fire at Aarey. which later turned out to be a false one. It was chaos all over the station and staff don't know how to react with the passenger present at the station. And later Technical snag announcement also started. Saying Train coming on platform 2 has been delayed due to Technical snag.The Staff present on station kept saying trains will arrive in 15 - 20 mins and it was 2 hrs still no sign of train and at 10:59 the faulty rake came at aarey and then the announcement made by the staff that no train will go to Dahanukarwadi . Please empty the station service for the day has been closed.
This was utter shit by the MMRDA and MMMORCL. Where passenger were made to wait for 2 hrs 30 mins and asked to return back home from Aarey. And as we get down the stairs again announcement started which stated Train for Dahanukarwadi is coming on platform :- 2 , Which later staff told that it was a false alarm and done by mistake!! Zero professionalism shown on First day by the staff at Aarey station..

10 months of trials done was utter waste of time i suppose , when they cant work properly on first day itself , Even 2 days of Dry run was done before opening of Metro !!

Hope Service get Better with upcoming time.

The lower threshold for folks dying directly/indirectly on Bombay's locals is atleast a thousand per year. More metro connectivity will help to take the load off the existing commuter services and will directly translate into human lives saved per year. The locals there are stretched to the limits; they are performing tasks they weren't originally designed for and the city as a whole is paying a price for that.
