more... the speeding up of the Madras-Bombay Express and the Grand Trunk Express, I wish to say that with the return to normal conditions, it should be definitely possible to speed up these two express trains. I took up this matter in the Zonal Committee, of which I happen to be a member, but there, the technical people come and say that it is not possible to do so. Why it is not possible to speed these up, I cannot under stand. The Bombay-Madras Express was first introduced nearly 20 years ago. It left Madras at 8-30 a.m. and reached Bombay at about 10-30 a .m ., taking in all 26 hours. Now it takes two hours more. If it was possible to do the journey in 26 hours before the war, I cannot now understand why it is impossible now. There is a general feeling—whether it is right or wrong—but it is certainly a feeling of discontent prevailing in South India that only North India gets every

Ye mujhe samajh nahi aa raha hai ki inko tez karna kyun mushkil hai. Bombay-Madras Express lagbhag 20 saal pehle introduce ki gayi thi. Ye Madras se subah 8:30 baje nikalti thi aur Bombay tak lagbhag 10:30 baje aa jati thi, puri 26 ghante mein. Ab isme do ghante aur lagte hain. Agar yuddh se pehle 26 ghante mein safar karna possible tha, to ab mujhe samajh nahi aa raha ki ab isko kyun impossible samjha jata hai. South India mein ek aam soch hai—saahi ya galat, ye toh discut kia ja sakta hai—lekin ye jaroor hai ki North India ko sab kuch milta hai.
