This initiative comes after requests from MPs of Dhanbad and Jamshedpur for a direct train to Buxar, and a separate proposal from the MP of Ara to introduce a train from Ara Junction. The South Eastern Railway is planning to launch a new train on this route using an existing train, the Tata-Godda Express, which currently operates only once a week in each direction. The train has 22 coaches, including 12 sleeper, three general, three third AC, two second AC, and two SLR coaches. This service has been demanded for almost four decades, with the need for such a service arising from the large number of people from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh who work in Jharkhand. Currently, over 100 buses operate daily between these four districts and Jharkhand. The South Eastern Railway has been supportive of this proposal in the past, but it was stalled by the East Central Railway and the Danapur Division due to the lack of express train maintenance facilities in Buxar. This excuse has been used for decades, and no efforts have been made to address it. Local leaders like Sanjay Singh from JDU and Dinesh Jaiswal from the Red Cross Society have urged the railway to consider the benefits of this service, highlighting the availability of space in Buxar and questioning the existence of express trains from other stations with limited space. The local MP and central minister, Ashwini Choubey, has also advocated for this service to the railway. The railway is currently reviewing other proposals for train halts in Buxar and other districts, and is expected to provide an update soon.

JDU ke Sanjay Singh aur Red Cross Society ke Dinesh Jaiswal jaise local leaders ne railway se is service ke fayde pe gaur karne ki maang ki hai, aur Buxar mein space hone ke baat pe zor diya hai, aur kam space wale dusre stations se chalta express trains ke bare mein sawal kiya hai. Local MP aur central minister, Ashwini Choubey ne bhi railway se is service ke liye maang ki hai. Railway ab Buxar aur dusre jilon mein train halts ke liye dusre proposals ko review kar raha hai, aur jaldi hi ispe update dega.
