While the groundbreaking ceremony for these projects took place six months ago, construction of the new station building has yet to commence. Currently, only one train, the Lakshmi Bai Nagar-Yog Nagari Rishikesh Express, runs from Lakshmi Bai Nagar station. In the future, a dozen long-distance trains will be operated from this station. Platform 2 and 3 are being raised in height, and a shed is being built over the footbridge, expected to be completed by February. The platform cover shed is being extended, and amenities like Wi-Fi, CCTV cameras, and lifts are being added. A new two-story station building is to be constructed behind the current parking area towards Bhagirathpura, but work on this project has not started yet. The existing three platforms at the station are being augmented with two new platforms on the Bhagirathpura side. According to railway officials, these additional platforms will be used to operate some long-distance trains departing from Indore. This development is part of the Indian Railways' Amrit Station Scheme to modernize Lakshmi Bai Nagar station, upgrading existing passenger facilities. Abhi toh Lakshmi Bai Nagar station se sirf ek train chalti hai, Lakshmi Bai Nagar-Yog Nagari Rishikesh Express. Lekin aane wale time mein yeh station se 12 long-distance trains chalaayi jaengi. July 2023 mein platform 2 aur 3 ki height badhayi ja rahi hai, aur footbridge pe shed banaya ja raha hai, jiska kaam February tak khatam ho jayega. Platform pe cover shed bhi badha ja raha hai, aur Wi-Fi, CCTV cameras, aur lifts jaise suvidhayen bhi badhayi ja rahi hain. Bhagirathpura ki taraf parking ke peeche 2 floor wali new station building banni hai, lekin uski construction ab tak start nahi hui. 6 months pehle uski groundbreaking ceremony hui thi. Ab station pe 3 platforms hain, aur Bhagirathpura ki taraf 2 new platforms ban rahe hain. Railway officials ke hisaab se, yeh new platforms Indore se chalne wali long-distance trains ke liye use honge.
