The tender for the one-year-old plan was finalized by the Urban Development Department on the initiative of Municipal Commissioner Ravi Raj Sharma, but the work could not start due to the lack of NOC. The railway has granted NOC for the beautification of the loco tank as well as the Pump pond located on Polytechnic Road. The beautification plan includes dredging the pond, removing water hyacinths, constructing a track for morning walks, seating benches, entrance and exit gates, parking facilities, and planting various flowers. The project also includes constructing a new Chhath Ghat and installing an STP to purify the pond water, similar to Rajendra Sarovar. Green patches are also planned around the pond. The project aims to transform the Loco Tank into a tourist destination for Dhanbad.

Ek saal purani yojana ka tender Nagar Ayukt Ravi Raj Sharma ki pehal par Nagar Vikas Vibhag ne final kar diya, lekin NOC na milne se ab tak kaam shuru nahin ho paya tha. Railway ne loco tank ke saath-saath Polytechnic Road par sthit Pump talab ke saun'daryikaran ke liye NOC de di hai. Saun'daryikaran yojana mein talab ki gaad nikaal kar uski gahrai badhayi jaayegi, jalakumhi hataayi jaayegi, subah ki sair ke liye track banaya jaayega, baithne ke liye bench, pravesh aur nikas dwar ke saath parking ki bhi vyavastha hogi. Talab ke andar, bahar sabhi sthanon par tarah-tarah ke phool lagaaye jaayenge. Talab ka pani shudh karne ke liye Rajendra Sarovar ki tarah STP lagane ki bhi yojana hai. Iske alawa chaaron taraf green patch bhi banane ki yojana shamil hai. Yeh project Dhanbad ke liye ek paryaatan sthal banane ka lakshya rakhata hai.
