This corridor will be called the Blue Line and is expected to be completed by June 23, 2027. The state government had previously asked the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) to revise the DPR (Detailed Project Report) by reducing the number of metro coaches and shortening the stations, which was then submitted in 2019. The corridor will have 5 elevated stations and 7 underground stations. The depot for the East-West corridor will be constructed in Vasant Kunj. The Charbagh metro station will serve as a junction point, connecting the North-South and East-West corridors. This means that people arriving from the airport who wish to travel to Aminabad, Chowk, Medical College, or Vasant Kunj will need to change trains at Charbagh.
