more... Modi will visit the operational control center of the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) in Ahmedabad and lay the foundation stone for various railway projects worth over 85,000 crores. These projects include railway workshops, loco sheds, pit lines/coaching depots, the foundation stone of the Phaltan-Baramati new line, electric traction system upgrade works, and the dedication of two new sections of the Dedicated Freight Corridor, the New Khurja to Sahnewal (401 route km) section of the Eastern DFC and the New Makarpura to New Gholvad (244 route km) section of the Western DFC. He will also flag off the extension of four Vande Bharat trains. The railway ministry is also planning to open Jan Aushadhi stores at railway stations, offering affordable medicines at 90% cheaper rates compared to branded medicines. The government has announced special trains for Holi, starting from March 20th, to help people travel back home for the festival. The railway ministry is planning to operate 50% more special trains compared to last year. The railway ministry is also working on a super app that will provide on-demand reservation and eliminate waiting tickets.
