What is Bengaluru metro’s driverless train, bought from a Chinese companyPremium

Bengaluru Metro's Yellow Line is set to introduce driverless trains, a first for the city, by the end of the year. These trains will operate on a 19 km route connecting R.V. Road to Bommasandra, near Electronics City, and will utilize the Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) signaling system, also known as...

'driverless technology.' This will reduce the headway between trains from 2.5 minutes to just 90 seconds. While the trains are autonomous, BMRCL plans to initially deploy locomotive pilots. These trains were manufactured by the China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC), who won a contract for 216 coaches but faced delays due to not having an Indian manufacturing plant. They have partnered with Titagarh Wagons to deliver the remaining coaches. Before commercial operations, the driverless trains undergo extensive testing, including 37 tests over four months, system integration, and 45 days of testing. The trains are equipped with advanced technology like Unattended Train Operations (UTO), enhanced supervision from the Operations Control Centre, and various safety systems. They also feature dynamic route map indicators and automatic axle box temperature monitoring.

hai. Isse trains ke beech ka time, 2.5 minutes se kam hoke 90 seconds ho jaayega. Train toh apne aap chal sakta hai, par BMRCL pehle locomotive pilots ko deploy karega. Yeh trains China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC) ne banaye hai, jinhe 216 coaches ke liye contract mila tha, par unhe India mein plant na hone ki wajah se delay hua. Ab unhone Titagarh Wagons ke saath partner karke, baki coaches deliver karne hai. Commercial operations shuru hone se pehle, driverless trains ko kaafi tests se guzarna padega, jaise 37 tests, chaar mahine mein, system integration, aur 45 din ka testing. Trains mein advanced technology hai, jaise Unattended Train Operations (UTO), Operations Control Centre se enhanced supervision, aur kaafi safety systems. Unme dynamic route map indicator aur automatic axle box temperature monitoring bhi hai.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
