Eight consulting firms have expressed interest in preparing the feasibility study for a 52-km metro extension from Madavara to Tumakuru. This project, if deemed feasible, will be implemented under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Notable bidders include RITES Limited, Systra MVA Consulting, and Aarvee Associates. The BMRCL plans to select a...

consultant after technical and financial evaluations. The extension is based on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's budget announcement. However, it has drawn criticism due to its inter-city nature. Home Minister G Parameshwara has been advocating for the extension to his hometown, Tumakuru, without considering alternatives like expanding the suburban rail network from Chikkabanavara. The BMRCL emphasizes that the feasibility study does not guarantee the project's execution. The BMRCL has also initiated feasibility studies for a 118-km network, including stretches like Challaghatta to Bidadi, Silk Institute to Harohalli, and more. Bidders for this project are yet to be disclosed. Meanwhile, the BMRCL has nearly finished the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Sarjapura Road-Hebbal metro line, encompassing 36 stations. The DPR will be submitted to the state government after the election code of conduct concludes.

Madavara se Tumakuru tak 52 km metro extension ke feasibility study ke liye aath consultancy firms ne interest dikhaaya hai. Agar yeh feasible hua, toh yeh project Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model ke under execute hoga. Associates bhi hain. BMRCL technical aur financial evaluation ke baad ek successful consultant select karega. Yeh development Chief Minister Siddaramaiah ke budget announcement pe based hai. Par yeh move criticism bhi attract kar sakta hai, kyunki metro commute intra-city hota hai, inter-city nahin. Home Minister G Parameshwara apne hometown, Tumakuru tak metro extension ke liye support kar rahe hain, bina feasibility study report ya Chikkabanavara se suburban rail network extend karne jaise alternatives ko check kiye. BMRCL ne clear kiya hai ki feasibility study se Tumakuru tak metro extend hone ki guarantee nahin hai. February mein, BMRCL ne 118 kms ke network par metro project ki feasibility study ke liye bhi tenders invite kiye the. Isme Challaghatta aur Bidadi, Silk Institute aur Harohalli, aur bhi kuchh stretches include hain. Is project ke bidders ke naam abhi tak reveal nahin hue hain. Iske saath, BMRCL ne Sarjapura Road-Hebbal metro line ka Detailed Project Report (DPR) almost complete kar liya hai, jisme 36 stations honge. Election code of conduct khatam hone ke baad, yeh DPR state government ko submit kiya jaayega.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
