The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited team is expected to arrive in Patna in the last week of August to finalize the location for the station, which will be built either in Fulwari or Bihta. The 1660 km long Delhi-Howrah route will be completed in two phases. The first phase will involve the construction of an 813 km track from Delhi to Varanasi via Lucknow, connecting Ayodhya. The second phase will focus on the Varanasi-Howrah route via Patna. The project is estimated to cost 5 billion rupees. Stations are proposed in Varanasi, Buxar, Ara, Patna, Nawada, Dhanbad, Asansol, Durgapur, Bardhaman, and Howrah. The first high-speed rail line in India is under construction between Mumbai and Ahmedabad, covering a distance of 508 km. This corridor will also feature India's first undersea tunnel. Trials are scheduled for 2026 between Bilimora and Surat.
