connection hub with major Indian cities. Ballia, known for its historical contribution to India's freedom struggle, is strategically located at the confluence of the Ganga and Ghaghra rivers. The station, categorized as NSG-3, boasts four platforms and handles an average daily footfall of 18,000 passengers. It witnesses the operation of 48 passenger, mail, and express trains including the 'Hamasafar Express', 'Sialdah Express', 'Bhrgu Express', 'New Delhi Express', 'Dadar Express', 'Kamayani Express', 'Shahganj Passenger', 'Auraiya Passenger', 'Chhapra-Varanasi City Passenger', and 'Prayagraj Rambag Passenger'. The station also serves as a halt for major trains including the 'Antyodaya Express', 'Super Fast Trains', and 'Rajdhani Express'. Under the 'Amrit Station Scheme', the station is undergoing various upgrades and improvements, including: expanding the station building, aesthetically enhancing the facade, modernizing the VIP lounge by adding an AC lounge (85% complete), constructing a retaining wall for Platform 4 (132 meters out of 250 meters complete), building a boundary wall (200 meters out of 450 meters complete), providing 8 bay PP shelters on the platforms (95% complete), improving traffic circulation, beautifying the circulating area (2420 square meters), expanding the main entrance (40 meters), constructing disabled-friendly toilets (10 square meters), enhancing the front facade and upgrading works, building an AC waiting hall (96 square meters), constructing new toilet blocks (60 square meters), creating a parking area (1800 square meters), building a 12-meter wide foot over bridge with lifts and escalators, providing platform shelters (2280 square meters), improving signage, and installing lifts and escalators to enhance passenger experience. Upon completion, these upgrades will provide passengers with modern amenities and a pleasant experience at the station.
