Why is it that trains which pass major terminus stations are given lesser preference as compared to trains originating/terminating from these stations? Most of these trains are given too much slack time, held up at outer cabin and lots of unwanted time gets added up in their journey .For example there are quite a few trains coming from eastern/northeastern parts of India which touch Chennai Central and then go onwards towards Kerala, Bangalore and other places and vice versa. If they are allowed entry quickly, the engine reversal will take max 30 min.When you compare this to trains which terminate, at least an hour is taken for them to be shunted to the yard and likewise if it is an originating train most of the time it may arrive in the pf at least 40 min prior to departure, so when you compare this to trains which halt and...
more... have engine reversals the time taken is much higher so why this preferential treatment for originating and terminating trains !!!! A lot of time can be saved for these long distance trains if they get a quick entry and exit from these major terminuses .
