As announced in last Railway Budget for running of a bi-weekly Express trains towards Ajmer from Puri, Ministry of Railways has decided to introduce Puri-Ajmer Express via Angul, Sambalpur, Titilagarh, Raipur, Nagpur, Bhusawal, Surat & Abu Road w.e.f. 30th December 2013 from Puri & w.e.f. 3rd January 2014 from Ajmer.
18421 Puri-Ajmer bi-weekly Express will leave Puri at 2125hrs on every Monday & Thursday and will arrive at Ajmer at 2100hrs on every Wednesday & Saturdays. In the return direction, 18422 Ajmer-Puri bi-weekly Express will leave Ajmer at 1600hrs on every Friday & Tuesday and will arrive at Puri at 1845hrs on every Sunday & Thursdays.

more... tier, Three AC-3 tiers, Nine Sleeper Class Coaches, Seven General Second Class Coaches, Two Guard cum Luggage Vans and one Pantry Car in its composition having stoppages at Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Mancheswar, Dhenkanal, Talcher Road, Angul, Rairakhol, Sambalpur, Bargarh Road, Bolangir, Titlagarh, Kantabanji, Khariar Road & Mahasamund in East Coast Railway jurisdiction between Puri & Ajmer.
This train will also provide stoppages at Raipur, Durg, Gondia, Nagpur, Wardha, Badnera, Akola, Malkapur, Bhusawal, Jalgaon, Amalner, Nandurbar, Surat, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Sabarmati, Mahesana, Palanpur, Abu Road, Sirohi Road, Falna, Rani, Marwar & Beawar.
However, in the inaugural run, the train will leave Puri at 1630 hrs on 22nd December 2013 (Sunday) and will arrive at Ajmer on 24th December 2013 (Tuesday) on open timingS and in return direction, this train will leave Ajmer on 25th December 2013 and will arrive at Puri on 27th December 2013.
Shri Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways will flag off this train in its inaugural run from Puri Station on 22nd December 2013 in presence of Shri Maheswar Mohanty, Hon’ble Minister for Tourism & Culture, Planning & Co-ordination and Law Deptt.; Govt. of Odisha and Shri Pinaki Mishra, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Puri.
