The renovation includes the inauguration of five overbridges and underpasses at Shekhpur Auadhiyar, Jalalabad, Khalispur, and Raghuvrganj, costing 20 crore rupees. The foundation stone for the strengthening and development of passenger amenities at the city railway station was also laid, costing 16.63 crore rupees. The proposed development work at the City Railway Station will see the creation of an airport-style parking facility. The parking area will be modern and equipped with advanced amenities. The renovation includes several improvements like circulating area, access roads, drainage, passenger walkways, station building beautification, porch construction, arrival-departure building, and new parking for two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers. The platform will be elevated, the surface improved, and sheds and false ceilings will be constructed on the platforms. The passenger waiting room will be made more attractive and convenient. Train display boards, digital clocks, auto announcement systems, and unreserved ticket counters will be upgraded. Additionally, high masts, LT panels, transformers, signage, lighting, and fans will be installed at the City Railway Station.
