All India Railway Mens' Federation (AIRMF) ne yeh clear kiya ki woh sirf OPS ko accept karenge, chahe government ne new pension scheme (NPS) ke benefits improve karne ke liye committee banayi ho. AIRMF ne yeh bhi bataya ki kai states, jisme Jharkhand bhi hai, woh apne employees ke liye OPS pe vapas aa chuke hain. Unhone central government se bhi yeh demand kiya hai ki woh states ki tarah OPS ko follow kare. OPS mein, ek government employee ko apni last drawn salary ka 50% monthly pension milta hai, aur employees ko koi contribution nahi karna padta. NPS mein, employees ko apni basic salary aur dearness allowance ka 10% contribute karna padta hai, government bhi itna hi contribute karta hai. Yeh paisa Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) dwara approve kiye gaye pension funds mein invest kiya jaata hai, aur returns market pe depend karte hain.
