Southern Railway Proposes New Trains for Kerala at Committee Meeting

The Southern Railway has proposed two new trains for Kerala: a weekly Kochuveli-Bengaluru train and a weekly Kochuveli-Guwahati train. The Palakkad division only requested an extension of the Bengaluru-Coimbatore Uday Express to Palakkad via Pollachi. Other demands, like extending trains ending at Kannur to Mangaluru, improving the Kozhikode-Ernakulam MEMU service, and...

adding more trains on the Palakkad-Pollachi route, were not addressed. Eight new trains were proposed for Tamil Nadu. The Kanyakumari-Pune Jayanti Express was suggested to be extended to Mumbai, and the frequency of the Kochuveli-Kurla service is proposed to be increased to five days a week. To address a shortage of trains from Alappuzha to Thiruvananthapuram, the Dhanbad-Alleppey Express is recommended to be extended to Kochuveli. The Parasuram Express is proposed to be extended from Nagercoil to Kanyakumari. Two Ernakulam-terminating trains may be extended to Kottayam. The Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram Superfast Express is suggested to terminate at Kochuveli instead of Thiruvananthapuram to avoid delays for the Vanchinadu and Intercity trains. Despite demands, the Southern Railway has not provided a list of Vandebharat sleeper trains. Kerala requested Vandebharat sleeper trains from Thiruvananthapuram to Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi.

Palakkad division ne sirf Bengaluru-Coimbatore Uday Express ko Palakkad tak extend karne ka request kiya hai, wo bhi Pollachi route se. Aur bhi demands thi, jaise Kannur se khatam...
