Two private individuals, Rakesh Kumar Mishra alias Laddu Baba and Rajesh Kumar Singh, were sentenced to ten years and three years of imprisonment respectively, while the NER employees, Bharat Yadav and Anil Kumar Mandal, were sentenced to three years each. The CBI had registered a case in 2012 and filed a chargesheet in 2013. One accused, Chandra Shekhar Choudhary, was acquitted by the court.
