With 400 instances this year, Pune railway station once again tops alarm chain pulling in trains

The Pune railway station has had the highest number of alarm chain pulling incidents by passengers in the Pune division of Central Railway this year, followed by Ahmednagar and Daund stations. Pune reported 400 cases from January to August, while Ahmednagar and Daund reported 172 and 134 cases respectively. Last year,...

during the same period, Pune led with 570 cases, followed by Chinchwad and Loni stations with 170 and 160 cases respectively. The most common complaints registered by the RPF, categorized as 'punctuality tasks', are alarm chain pulling, stone-pelting, and track runovers. The primary reasons for chain pulling are passengers arriving late or waiting for their co-passengers. This offense is punishable under Section 141 of the Railways Act, 1989, with a penalty of imprisonment up to one year, a fine of Rs. 1,000, or both. The RPF also handles complaints and assistance through the Rail Madad app, with the most frequent case being luggage left behind, followed by missing passengers and theft of belongings. There is a category for “misbehaviour with women”, but such incidents are rare. To identify chain pullers, the RPF relies on the pressure drop sound, passenger emergency alarm indicator, and blinking LED light in LHB coaches.

Pune railway station pe is saal Central Railway ke Pune division mein sabse zyada alarm chain khinche jaane ke cases report hue hain, uske baad Ahmednagar aur Daund stations hain. January se August tak Pune mein 400 cases report hue hain, jabki Ahmednagar aur Daund mein 172 aur 134 cases report...

hue hain. Last saal, issi time period mein, Pune mein 570 cases report hue the, uske baad Chinchwad aur Loni stations mein 170 aur 160 cases report hue the. RPF dwara register kiye jaane waale sabse common complaints, jinhe 'punctuality tasks' ke naam se jaana jata hai, mein alarm chain khincha jaana, train ki khidkiyo par patthar maarna, aur track par daudna shamil hain. Chain khincha jaane ke piche main reason passengers ka late aana ya apne saath wale passengers ka intezaar karna hai. Ye offense Railways Act, 1989 ke Section 141 ke under punishable hai, jismein 1 saal tak ki jail, Rs. 1,000 ka fine, ya dono saza di ja sakti hai. RPF Rail Madad app ke through complaints aur assistance ko bhi handle karta hai, jismein sabse zyada case luggage chhoot jaane ka hai, uske baad passengers ka kho jaana aur belongings ki chori hai. 'Mahilaon ke saath galat vyavhaar' ke liye bhi ek category hai, lekin aise incidents Pune division mein kam hi hote hain. Chain khinchaane waalon ki pehchaan karne ke liye RPF pressure drop sound, passenger emergency alarm indicator, aur LHB coaches mein blinking LED light ka use karta hai.
