The story of a lost railway
Kundala Valley Railway. The current Wayanad landslide triggers comparasion with the great flood of 1924 [Malayalam year 1099] where rains lashed out for 3 weeks straight and the Periyar river swallowed everything in it's wake. It led to tremendous loss of lives and also, the loss of a railway system. Monorail itself is a failure but it lead to exponentially increase in the real estate prices of chembur making this area highly unaffordable.
