The project was initially named Vande Metro but was renamed to 'Namo Bharat Rapid Rail' just before the inauguration to distinguish it from other Vande Bharat trains. Project pehle Vande Metro tha, lekin inauguration se pehle, railway ne naam badal kar 'Namo Bharat Rapid Rail' kar diya. Yeh change isliye kiya gaya hai taaki Vande Bharat trains se is service ko alag dikhaya ja sake. Officials kehte hain ki Metro project ki trains ki features aur objectives alag hain.
