Whatever be the case of profit or loss, IR will not dare to touch NE area with emerging situation with China and other aspects.
Regarding 3 phase locos.... I dont know the technology. I see only one phase line over the tracks. How can the loco receive other phases?
The heart of a 3 phase loco is the traction converter. It converts single phase current from the OHE to 3 phase AC current.
