Also, TVC has to shunt the rakes fast after reaching the platforms.. The delay in shunting also leads to the delay of arriving and departing trains.

TVC station has only 5 PFs and delayed arrival of trains & delayed shunting of trains leads to delay in arrival/departure of other trains too. 12 hours delayed Gorakhpur Express disrupted all other train movement also.

Once Nemom become operational will the trains be extended from TVC to Nemom or trains from Kanyakumari side will terminate at Nemom?

TVC needs more platforms now. So even pass-through trains wont help. I hope they sacrifice some space and build new platforms and shift the coaching facility (not entirely) to Nemom.
Mostly Nemom Terminal means the coaching facilities i think.. Just like Tambaram. At Tambaram no new platforms have been built. But a coaching depot with 3 pitlines are there.

So my speculation is some TVC trains' primary maintenance would be shifted to Nemom once the coaching facility is completed, just like Kerala express's PM is at Kochuveli.
