Re# 4306948-1
Some points. It was only a weekend train when introduced. It also had a halt at Neral Jn. Initially it had only FC. Later when Second class was added, Dining Car was strictly for FC pax. Its original livery was Blue/Cream. Till Second class was introduced, it was described as Alishaan Gadi (Royal train). The Blue-red-white colour scheme of the train witnessed the fully reserved train go down a few notches with a general second class. At present with a General Second Class ticket, you can walk down to the DC and sit and enjoy some unique delicacies offered on board in the company of numerous ST holders wanting to sit for a while during 3 hr journey. Simply imagine what would happen if the DC is turned into AC? And if push-pull is implemented, will the halt for Karjat be removed? That would invite additional protests.
