Indore ke Lavkush Chaurahe se Ujjain ke Mahakal Mandir tak 44 km ki RRTS plan banayi thi. Isme Indore se Ujjain city tak elevated metro aur Ujjain city me Mahakal Mandir tak underground metro ki plan thi. RRTS me lagabhag ₹7000 crore kharch aayega, aur yeh fast connectivity dega, lekin Vande Metro trains existing railway infrastructure use karegi, jisse yeh cost-effective option ban jaayega, lekin frequency kam hogi. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation ne RRTS project ka survey kiya tha, aur ab Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Indore aur Pithampur ke beech ke RRTS project pe focus karne ka soch rahi hai.
