Mantu's mother, Kalo Deviya, filed a complaint with the police, accusing some village youths of conspiring to murder her son. She said that Mantu drove a Bolero for hire and left with four to five young men, including Vishnu Das, on December 16th. The young men returned the Bolero around 9 p.m., refusing to reveal anything about Mantu. The next morning, they learned that a body was found on the railway tracks, 2 km west of Madhupur station. Kalo Deviya claims the accused murdered Mantu and left his body on the tracks. The police are investigating whether it was murder or suicide, and the postmortem report will determine the cause of death.
