Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) on the Bengaluru-Kanniyakumari Express is being sought by the police after he allegedly misbehaved with a 19-year-old nursing student traveling home to Kerala for a funeral. The incident occurred at Tirupathur when the TTE discovered the student was using a general compartment ticket in a reserved coach and allegedly misbehaved with her after she explained her situation. The TTE jumped off the train at Salem Junction following the student's alarm. The student filed a complaint with Salem Railway Police. Meanwhile, Mettur dam's water level stands at 70.30 feet, significantly lower than its full capacity of 120 feet. The inflow into the dam has also reduced. In Erode, a video showing four individuals cooking tortoise meat in the forest has sparked concerns about the involvement of forest officials.
