Once fully positioned, the bridge level will be lowered to match the approach roads. One arm of the bridge will open for traffic by February 15, with the entire bridge expected to be operational by May 2024. The new bridge replaces the old 77-meter Gokhale Bridge, which was shut down last November due to structural instability. The new bridge is the second longest railway over bridge in Mumbai, after the 99.8-meter Vidyavihar ROB.
