A local councilor, Shashikant Mavor, informed the police after noticing crows circling over some body parts the next morning. The police collected the remaining body parts and transported them to the government hospital. Witnesses stated that the couple had bought gutkha from a shop in Transport Nagar around 10:30 pm. The shopkeeper noticed their behavior, but due to the cold weather, he didn't think much of it. The news of the accident spread quickly, causing panic in the area. The couple was reportedly wearing black t-shirts, with the woman covering her face.
