The road's condition poses a significant risk of accidents. Meanwhile, on the main Sonpur-Hajipur road, near the goods depot west of Sonpur station, sewage from a railway drain has been overflowing onto the road for the past two months. The road has become potholed, and the sewage water splashes onto pedestrians and cyclists as vehicles speed by. While the road was repaired ahead of the Sonpur Mela, it has deteriorated again. Railway officials remain indifferent to the problem. BJP leaders Lalbabu Singh Kushwaha, Abhay Ojha, social workers Ramnaresh Sharma, Sahdev Pandit, and other representatives have appealed to the administration for immediate repairs to the dilapidated roads and to stop the sewage from overflowing onto the road.
