The investigation initially uncovered negligence at the supervisor level, but this information was suppressed, leading to a subsequent investigation by senior zonal officials. There is now an attempt to spread responsibility for the accident across multiple departments to protect those initially found responsible. To prepare for the Chairperson's visit, meetings are being held, and the railway station, headquarters, and coaching complex are being spruced up. After her visit to the railway station and coaching complex, Sinha will travel to the tourist site of Bheraghat, before departing for Delhi on train number 12189.
