first day. The stoppage was approved after a protest led by Ramesh Chandra Advocate, president of the Rail Roko Sangarsh Samiti, on January 12th. MP Pakauri Lal Kol said the decision was taken to address the travel difficulties faced by the locals. The stop will be for 2 minutes for both up and down trains. The Ranchi-Chopan Swarna Jayanti Express and Chunar-Barwadih Passenger trains are also expected to get approval for stoppage soon. This station serves a large population from both Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand. Locals from around a dozen gram panchayats in Palamu parliamentary constituency use this station to travel to Ranchi and other places in Jharkhand.
