The railway minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, addressed a virtual meeting held at the Ambala railway division office and outlined the development plans. The focus is on transforming stations associated with historical landmarks, incorporating local culture and history. Kurukshetra station, where the Mahabharata war and the Bhagavad Gita teachings took place, will be redesigned accordingly. Other stations will also reflect their local specialties. All broad gauge lines in Haryana have been electrified, and most routes are now operated by electric trains. The construction of new railway tracks has also significantly increased from 50-60 kilometers annually to 320 kilometers per year.
