Chennai, RCF, Kapurthala, and MCF, Rae Bareli are all involved in developing the Vande Bharat rake. The MCF will also start producing push-and-pull trains with AC and non-AC coaches in 2024, similar to the Amrit Bharat express, but with AC LHB coaches. The Vande Bharat express can travel at 160 kmph and reach top speed in 140 seconds. The Amrit Bharat express, which began service on December 30, 2023, from Ayodhya, uses two locomotives in a push-and-pull configuration for better acceleration and has 22 coaches.
