The station will become the fourth major passenger terminal in the twin cities and is being equipped with modern facilities and technology. Passengers from areas like LB Nagar, ECIL, Kushaiguda, and Karimnagar can directly board trains at Cherlapally without having to enter the main city. The station's proximity to the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and the upcoming Regional Ring Road (RRR) will make it convenient for passengers. Further plans include extending the suburban network beyond Cherlapally to Ghatkesar, connecting to Sanathnagar and ultimately reaching Yadadri.
