The inauguration ceremony at Lakhimpur railway station was to feature Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Mishra Teni as the chief guest, but he did not attend. His representative, Arvind Singh, attended in his place. Several other dignitaries, including Rajya Sabha MP Ramji, city MLA Yogesh Verma, and Legislative Council member Anoop Gupta, were also absent. The Municipal President, Dr. Ira Srivastava, was then made the chief guest. Other elected officials and railway officers present at the event removed the veil from a plaque to mark the foundation laying ceremony. The chief guest suggested building an underground parking lot if land is available and asked railway officers to create selfie points. Anil Yadav, BJP vice-president, said the Lakhimpur railway station would resemble major cities like Noida and Delhi. Others present at the event included District Bar Association President Avadhesh Singh, EDPPM of Railway Lucknow Division RR Kanaujia, Senior Engineer from Lucknow Mansi Mittal, and Lakhimpur Railway Station Superintendent Brijlal Ram.
