A speed trial was also conducted, with an Agra Metro train reaching 90 kmph. Construction began in December 2020 and trial runs commenced in July 2023 on the viaduct and December 2023 through tunnels. The CMRS has submitted an approval letter to UPMRC, signaling operational readiness pending the addressing of any identified conditions. Once operational, Agra Metro will become India's 17th operational metro system.
