The doubling and electrification of the Lucknow-Ayodhya rail line is nearing completion, with only 7 kilometers remaining in Jaunpur. Once completed, the train speed will be increased to 130 km per hour. The work is expected to be completed within the next two months. Currently, the Vande Bharat Express takes two hours to travel between Lucknow and Ayodhya, while other trains take between 2.25 and 3 hours.
