The state government has approved the payment of a total of ₹2.17 crore as financial assistance for the Mayors, Deputy Mayors, and Ward Councilors of various municipalities across the state. The monthly fixed allowance for the Mayor is ₹12,000, ₹10,000 for the Deputy Mayor, and ₹2,500 for the Ward Councilors. Over 50 permanent employees of the Chhapra Municipal Corporation are facing salary delays for February due to their failure to submit income tax receipts. The corporation is encouraging employees to submit their PAN and Aadhar cards to facilitate the salary payment.
