A revised proposal, including a seven-story building, was approved in 2023. Construction is expected to be completed by 2027. However, despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi's virtual groundbreaking on February 26th, 2023, construction progress has been slow. The new station will have six platforms, no new through lines, and a limited expansion of facilities. Despite this, MP Lalwani maintains that the design accommodates future growth, including a potential new railway line to Khandwa, and will be able to handle over 100,000 passengers daily.

Lekin, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ne 26 February, 2023 ko virtual groundbreaking karne ke baad bhi, construction ka kaam slow chal raha hai. New station mein six platforms, koi new through lines nahi honge, aur facilities ka bhi limited expansion hoga. Iske baawjud, MP Lalwani kehta hai ki design future growth ko accommodate karta hai, jismein Khandwa ke liye ek potential new railway line bhi hai, aur daily 100,000 passengers ko handle kar payega.
