Indian Railways is upgrading its Garib Rath Express trains with new German-engineered LHB coaches, starting April 10th, 2024. Vihar to Muzaffarpur (trains 12212/12211), Anand Vihar to Jaynagar (trains 12436/12435), and Anand Vihar to Gaya (trains 22410/22409). The new coaches will replace the current sleeper and AC chair car coaches with all AC 3-tier economy coaches, increasing the total number of berths per train by 352. The new LHB coaches are red, changing the Garib Rath's green exterior and making it look similar to other Rajdhani and mail express trains.

Naye LHB coaches laal rang ke hain, jisse Garib Rath ka hara exterior badal jaayega aur woh Rajdhani aur mail express trains jaise dikhenge.
