2023-24, the highest number ever recorded for any zonal railway in a single year. The NER has undertaken several infrastructure upgrades, including yard remodeling, speed enhancement, electrification, and track strengthening on the 425 km main line connecting Chhapra, Gorakhpur, and Barabanki, which has resulted in an increase in train frequency. The number of trains running on this line has increased from 150-160 to 250-260, despite the capacity remaining the same. The increased passenger traffic, particularly in Gorakhpur, where daily passengers have gone up from 55-60 thousand to 75-80 thousand, has led to plans for station remodeling. Despite the efforts, the demand for confirmed tickets during peak seasons remains high, with regular and special trains operating at full capacity.

NER ne Chhapra, Gorakhpur, aur Barabanki ko jodne wali 425 km ki main line par yard remodeling, speed enhancement, electrification, aur track strengthening jaise infrastructural upgrades kiye hain, jiske karan train frequency mein badhotri hui hai. Is line par chalne wali trains ki sankhya 150-160 se badhkar 250-260 ho gayi hai, haalaanki capacity wahi hai. Gorakhpur mein khass karke passenger traffic mein badhotri aayi hai, jahan rozana passengers ki sankhya 55-60 hazaar se badhkar 75-80 hazaar ho gayi hai, isliye station remodeling ka plan banaya gaya hai. Is sabke bawjood, peak seasons mein confirmed tickets ki demand bahut zyada hai, aur regular aur special trains poori capacity par chal rahi hain.
