Bandamunda Railway Station in the Chakradharpur Railway Division has become a major issue in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. South Eastern Railway. Despite being the third largest railway yard in India, the station faces neglect from the Railway Administration and the Central Government. This has led to numerous problems for the lakhs of people who depend on the station, including railway employees and their families who now have to travel 7 kilometers to Rourkela Railway Station to catch their trains. The local residents, including BJP leaders, have repeatedly appealed to the Railway Administration to resume train halts at Bandamunda. However, the Central Government has shown no concern for the plight of Bandamunda residents, including their railway employees and their families. Before the pandemic, Bandamunda Railway Station used to be served by 6 pairs of passenger trains, including Samaleswari Express, Utkal Express, South Bihar Express, Ispat Express, Tata Alleppey, Dhanbad Alleppey, Kurla Express, and Tapaswini Express. However, these trains have been stopped for the past three years. Currently, only the Ispat Express and two passenger trains halt at Bandamunda. The station's closure during the pandemic was justified by a lack of facilities to take passenger samples, but even after the pandemic subsided, the train halts haven't been restored. The lack of action has angered local residents, who are now demanding accountability from the Central Government.

the Bandamunda Railway Colony, which is the biggest railway colony in South Eastern Railway. Even though it is the third biggest railway yard in India, the station is being ignored by the Railway Administration and the Central Government. This has led to many difficulties for the lakhs of people who depend on the station, including railway employees and their families who have to travel 7 kilometers to Rourkela Railway Station to catch their trains. The local people, including BJP leaders, have asked the Railway Administration to restart train halts at Bandamunda many times. But the Central Government has not paid attention to the problems faced by the people of Bandamunda, including their railway employees and their families. Before the pandemic, Bandamunda Railway Station used to have 6 pairs of passenger trains, including Samaleswari Express, Utkal Express, South Bihar Express, Ispat Express, Tata Alleppey, Dhanbad Alleppey, Kurla Express, and Tapaswini Express. But these trains have been stopped for the last three years. Now, only the Ispat Express and two passenger trains stop at Bandamunda. During the pandemic, they stopped trains at Bandamunda saying that there were no facilities to take passenger samples, but even after the pandemic ended, they haven't started the train halts again. This inaction has made the local people angry, and they are now demanding answers from the Central Government.
