Two special trains have been announced between Raxoul and Secunderabad. Additionally, special trains are operating from Dhanbad to Anand Vihar, Mumbai, Jammu Tawi, and Dehradun, and from Gomoh to Puri-New Delhi, Patna-Secunderabad, Tata-Varanasi, and Tata-Patna. These special trains provide convenient options for laborers working in other states to return home for voting. Most migrant workers from Santhal Pargana and the coal belt of Jharkhand work in South Indian districts. Workers from Giridih, Bokaro, Godda, Dumka, Jamtara, Sahibganj, and Deoghar catch trains from Dhanbad Station to various districts in South India. During the lockdown, a large number of COVID special trains arrived in Dhanbad from various stations in South India. Passengers were transported to their homes by buses. The summer special trains operating from and via Dhanbad are effectively serving as regular trains, highlighting the need for permanent connections. Despite the high demand, new train proposals are often rejected due to route congestion. However, the current operation of over 10 special trains through Dhanbad could pave the way for regular train services in the future.
