released 120 crore rupees for the project in 2018 after signing an MoU with the state government. The survey for the Chirimiri-Nagpur Halt new rail line was completed on August 13, 2018, and the DPR was sent to the Ministry of Railways. Upon completion, the project will allow the extension of five trains currently operating from Chirimiri, including Chirimiri-Rewa, Chandia, Bhopal, Anuppur, and Bilaspur, to Ambikapur, benefiting a large population. The new railway line will connect the Nagpur Halt railway station to Chirimiri station, providing train connectivity to millions. The project was initiated by the efforts of Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, the regional MLA and Health Minister, and the state government, under Vishnudev Say, has allocated funds for the project.
