In 2023, the Congress party promised to push for the line's construction, and after winning the elections, secured its approval. The railway ministry has instructed the state government to initiate land acquisition processes for the project. Meanwhile, construction of a bypass line in Peddapalli is already underway to address the congestion at the existing junction. This bypass line will separate the train lines coming from Nizamabad and Karimnagar, reducing delays and improving passenger convenience.
