From January to April 2023, WR saw 304 deaths, with 162 crossing tracks, 65 falling from trains, 1 from electric shock, 10 suicides, 59 natural deaths, and 7 from other reasons. 97 bodies remained unclaimed. Railway police keep bodies for 14 days in government hospitals for relatives to claim. If no one comes forward, police perform the last rites based on any identifying marks or ornaments.
