This project, along with the extension of platforms 10 and 11 at CSMT to accommodate 24 coaches, is a significant infrastructure upgrade that will benefit both suburban and long-distance commuters. The project resulted in the cancellation of 935 trains during the mega block.

Thane station pe 63-hour ka mega block aur Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus pe 36-hour ka special block ke dauraan ye kaam pura hua. CSMT pe platform 10 aur 11 ko 24 coaches ke liye extend karne wala project bhi puri tarah se complete ho gaya. Ye sab infrastructure upgrade suburban aur long-distance travellers dono ko fayda denge. 63-hour mega block ke dauraan 935 trains cancel hui thi.
